Our Founder
Kansas City native, Royce "Mocha" Jackson
founded Mocha j. Apparel (formerly Sable
Dame Apparel Co.) in 2006 with aspirations
to change the game of the fashion--by
offering unique and affordable apparel.
Inspired by history and hip-hop culture while
completing a Bachelor of Sociology degree at
the University of Kansas (KU), she conceived
the idea for a clothing line with a greater
purpose--"self-actualization."
Mocha is an outstanding mom, scholar, and
entrepreneur who believes all things are
possible through Christ.
She recently completed her Master of Public
Administration degree program at University
of Missouri--Kansas City (UMKC) and is
participating in the Institute for
Entrepreneurship and Innovation program.
Hobbies include spending time with son
Xavier, design, and travel.
